Permeation tubes are small containers filled with a pure chemical compound in equilibrium between liquid and gas phases. Made from inert polymer materials and maintained at constant temperature, they release the compound through a permeable wall at a stable, well-defined rate. The permeated gas is then mixed with a controlled carrier gas flow to create precise reference mixtures for calibration and testing. Typical emission rates range from 20 μg/min to 500 μg/min, enabling accurate concentrations from ppb to high ppm levels.
